UPDATE: Middle-Sex Health Unit confirms as of October 10th, 2025 the END of the Measles Outbreak
We are seeing an increase in measles activity in several nearby communities.
If you believe you may have measles and need to see a healthcare provider, please call the clinic before coming in.
This allows our staff to take the appropriate precautions to protect you, our team, and other patients and visitors.
Recognizing Measles Symptoms
Common symptoms of measles may include:
– Fever
– Cough
– Runny nose
– Red, watery eyes
After about 3 to 5 days, a red, blotchy rash typically appears, beginning on the face and spreading down the body, arms, and legs.
Masking and Infection Prevention
To help ensure the continued safety of our patients and staff, we kindly ask that you wear a mask while receiving care in our facility.
You can also help reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, by:
- Using alcohol-based hand sanitizer frequently – especially before and after touching shared surfaces.
- Maintaining a safe physical distance (2 metres / 6 feet) whenever possible.
